Our Birthday Cake!!!

Adventures in the Bath Tub

Week of Birthdays!!

Well, here's a story...Joel said he didn't want anything for his birthday, but I couldn't get him nothing. So I went up to the Drug Store at the "Mall" and got him a really nice coffee bean jar...he loves to grind his own beans! Perfect gift right??? Well, it was until I dropped it! I couldn't believe it! I dropped it and it broke into a million pieces! Joel thought it was funny, but I was just heart broken that I broke my only gift for him! So, Joel thought we should put it back to together with some super glue! I didn't give him a jar, I gave him a puzzle!!
For my birthday, we went to Minot. I thought it would be fun to get a free meal (never had a free birthday meal). So we went out to eat at Up the Creek. It was fun and Corbin was so good and let up eat the entire meal without complaining! Then we heard that Paradiso gives a free menu item too...so we thought we would go for a free dessert. Of course, Joel couldn't pass up the fajitas, so we ordered another big meal (this was at 9 at night, so we had a good 5 hours between the meals). I was all excited for dessert, but I couldn't even eat my fajitas...so no dessert, oh well! It was a good day, even without dessert!

My Purse!!!

This is it! My first sewing project! And it really works!

Early Birthday Gift!

Joel bought me a sewing machine for my birthday. I had never sewed with a sewing machine in my life....life skills wasn't ever mandatory when I was in high school. I went right to work and made myself a purse. Janice (my mom-in-law) helped me understand how to use a pattern and how to make the sewing machine work. (thanks Janice!!) It went pretty well though! I was surprised! It came out looking like a purse!
Here is Janice helping me do the corners...there's a fancy name for it, but I don't remember. I was even able to make another purse for a friend for her birthday! And hers turned out way better!

Gpa & Gma's in TRF

It was Corbin's first sleep-over with his cousins at Gma & Gpa's. So we read a book and then said our prayers. They all fell asleep really fast, it had been a long day of playing together.
Corbin got to nap with Gma on Sunday afternoon. Everyone needs a Sunday afternoon nap!!!
Today for lunch, Corbin was feeling good enough to join us at the table. He got to fill his belly with some sweet tators. Gma got to feed him.
Corbin got to taste some pineapple today! The faces were priceless! But he kept tasting it! It was awesome!
We've found that it is nearly impossible to get a "good" picture with all the cousins! Corbin was a little stinker while he got his picture taken with Gpa, Gma, and cousins!

Our Spring Break!!!

We spent 2 nights in a hotel in GF. Corbin really enjoyed swimming! He loves the water!
We got to sleep in! With the grandparents willing to take the little man, we got to sleep in almost every morning on vacation! And Corbin actually did a really good job sleeping through the night, even with his coughing spells. (Although he landed in our bed because a sick baby needs his mommy and daddy!)
He did have some smiley moments though.
We also got to celebrate Joel and my birthday. It was a really good time and we loved hanging out with the family!

Corbin's 1st Cold

Corbin has had his first official cold this week! It started on Wednesday and it has wiped him out! He coughs, cries, and all the other things that come with illness! He looks awful in this picture, doesn't he? He is starting to get better today though (Monday). He still coughs but he has been much happier and more playful.

(I have been trying to get all my pictures posted, but for some reason I can't get most of them to work. I'll have to ask Mr. Fixit to give me a hand.)

All the Excitement!

We have had quite the bit of excitement in our lives over the past several days! Grandma Cathy and Uncle Simon came up on Friday to visit Corbin. We had a lot of fun catching them up with all Corbin's latest tricks. They stuck around until Sunday after church, then Corbin and Emily got to go on their first trip together to Grandpa Don's and Grandma Cathy's house. Corbin slept the entire 5 hour drive, so he didn't really sleep much Sunday night. Monday we just hung out at the farm. I (Emily) got to sleep until 11 a.m. much thanks to Grandma Cathy!!! The rest of the day we just relaxed and were bored!!!! It was great!

Today, Corbin and I (Emily) braved the weather...it's so nice out...and travelled to Fergus Falls. It was so nice to see everyone again! I really miss Fergus! (I wish I would have taken pictures, but I totally forgot that I had my camera along!) Well, Corbin and I got back to G & G at 9 p.m. and due to all the visiting are a bit tired (Corbin slept for 4 hours straight). Thanks so much for letting us pop in or for fitting us in your schedule!

It is so nice to have time off! It has been a really nice break and I am so excited to say that I still have 1 1/2 weeks off! Poor Joel is still working until Thursday, but then he gets several days off too!

I am excited to post pictures when I get to my own computer on Thursday! Until then take care and God bless!

Food Faces and New Favorite Toy

This is Corbin's breakfast face. He eats his rice cereal a little better, but the first couple bites make for some pretty crazy faces!
Corbin loves his guitar from Uncle Simon! He presses the same button 500 times in a row so it never finishes the song, ever!!!! The toy is also very loud! He likes to rock out just like his uncle!
We'll call this the "green bean face". He hated them! He wouldn't open his mouth for anything after the 2nd bite! Poor guy, we were trying so hard to get him to try another bite, but he's pretty smart for a 6 mo. old!
Trying to figure out how to use the new sippy!
Got it figured out! He drank almost 3 oz in one big gulp! Our little guy is growing up so fast! At first though he seemed to think it was a toy, but once he figured out that liquid flowed from it he wouldn't put it down!
This food thing has been quite the adventure! He will probably double his weight in no time! He ate an entire container of Sweet Potatoes tonight. Considering he hasn't eaten more than half of any of the other foods, that is quite an accomplishment!

So Brave!

Corbin is becoming more brave everyday! He will stand like this and then a few seconds later he will switch so the other hand is on the ottoman and in the air! He is so funny! He gets this super big grin on his face like "look what I can do!!!".

Here's the little man before bed. We just got home from the Lenten service (gotta love soup and sandwiches). All the girls swarm around him. There are 3 sisters that fight like crazy for who is going to hold him next and for how long. Sometimes I think I should take him before the fists start flying!
Also today, Joel fed Corbin his squash and it was everywhere!!!! It was in his hair and all over the highchair! I wish I would have had the camera there because it was the funniest thing I saw all day! Tomorrow we are going to start him on green beans!

Cuddle time

Since Corbin had his shots last week, he had been so cuddly! He buries his head into our shoulder! It feels so good! It's fun to hold him and him not push away! He holds onto some part of our clothing, just so he can wake up when we try to unclasp his grip. He has also started putting out his hand to Joel or I if he is in someone else's arms. It feels so good to be loved!

Corbin slept through the night last night! It felt so good to wake up and realize that we got a full nights sleep! Hopefully he will eventually get into somewhat of a schedule now that he gets real food.

One of the ladies from church stopped by for some "coffee". (Sadie had to have a cup, too.) It was really nice to have another adult around! Corbin and Sadie (daycare girl) did a lot of entertaining, but we still got to talk! -Sometimes I think that I am going to start speaking baby talk while out in public because I am around kids all day, but hopefully if I do people will understand!

SQUASH

Believe it or not, some of the food made it in his mouth!
Getting it down!
Let me try!
Is this the way you do it?
I've figured it out!
We found that he loves squash way more than rice cereal! Everything turned orange!

Corbin's Adventures

SNOW DAY! This picture is from our snow day on Friday! It was so nice to be able to get back under the covers! We rented movies and RELAXED! It was a great day!
TRICKS!

Corbin really enjoys standing. He gets up and then he does a little dance! He sways side to side and gets really excited and squeels!
"Look at my new trick!"

We lowered his crib to put our minds at ease. I guess we did it just in time!

SNOW DAY!!!

Due to the weather we have had 2 snow days now. Yesterday was nice, but today was GREAT! We just hung out, watched movies, made puppy chow and RELAXED. It was such a nice surprise, 4 day weekend and nowhere to go! We are pretty much snowed in! The weatherman advised no travel for our part of ND, so we are taking his advice! Gotta love ND!

Corbin is getting used to eating his 'cereal'. He still makes funny faces at first and gets it everywhere! (We need to invest in some HUGE bibs!) He likes to stand now, especially in front of the windows. Now, we are just looking forward to getting a full 8 hours of sleep at once, he still doesn't let us sleep through the night.

Hope all is well with you and the weather isn't getting in your way! God bless!

The Weather Outside is Frightful!

It's been snowing for days now and doesn't seem to want to let up! Luckily Corbin and I (emily) never have to leave the house! We woke up this morning to at least 6 inches more! This is a picture of our back deck!
Corbin was really interested in the outdoors! So, we STOOD by the window for awhile and he was giggling like crazy (until the camera came out)!

SHOTS!!!

As you can see from the bandaids on his legs, Corbin had some shots! He did so good! He cried for about a minute (mainly because he had to be on his back)! In this picture we are just getting ready to feed him! We've found that the less clothing he has on the less laundry and more baths we have to give! He really loves getting messy! It's a game trying to get the spoon in his mouth before he can grab it! If he does get ahold of it, it's EVERYWHERE! When we were at the Dr. we also found out that he weights in at 16 lbs. 8 oz. and is 26 in. He's in the 50%, amazing considering he was off the charts when he was born! (Still can't believe I had a 10 lber!)

Super Baby!

This is our little Super Baby! (Notice: his bib is twisted around making it look like he is wearing a cape!)

His smiley face toy has some "hair" on top, made of ribbon, he sucks it constantly!

It's hard work being a super hero!
