coupons!!!...great deal for moms...diapers!

In an effort to save money, I have been clipping and printing coupons! So far I have found free Quiznos subs, a free water bottle, $10 worth of free Kraft brand foods and a free 2 liter of Dr. Pepper. (Plus, tons of samples of foods and other products...which come with a coupon!) It is so much fun to hand over the coupon and walk out with something FREE!!! So, today when I found the $5 off Huggies diapers and another for $3 off Huggies diapers I was so excited! Plus...you can print 2 of each from coupons.com!!! So, if you are a mom or soon to be a mom to a little one...it's worth it! Even though we use cloth diapers around home, we do use disposible when we are somewhere for the day or overnight! AAAAAAHHHH! I am so excited about these coupons!

8 months already!

Elias is celebrating 8 months already! It seems like he was just born yesterday...yet like he has been part of our family forever! Elias has been very stuck on mom lately.

He is so close to crawling. He leans forward from sitting and stays on his hands and knees for awhile, rocking back and forth. Eventually he ends up on his tummy and goes in circles until he gets what he wants.

Here he is in his "farmer" attire.

And his expressions...they are so funny. He has so many new faces lately....he puts his lips out and his eyebrows down....or he grunts while making a totally hilarious, unexplainable face. He kid is a hoot! He seems to always wear a smile or be laughing! Even while he is crying (sometimes)!

He loves food! He eats basically anything we give him...but his favorites are sweet potatoes and pears.

He really enjoys watching his brother play...especially when Corbin plays "peek-boo" with him. He likes to get his hands on anything and everything. Corbin will give him one of "his" toys so he can get back the toy Elias has or he will just rip it from his little fingers. He also enjoys playing with mommy's jewelry...which isn't really worth wearing anymore...and hair.

He makes lots of noise, but no real words yet. Sometimes he will say "ma ma ma ma" or "da da da da".

He has started pulling himself up on furniture...which is accompanied by bumps on his head from losing his grip!

He doesn't like to be left alone in a room, and makes sure we know it!

And he still doesn't sleep through the night! (So, neither do mom or dad.)

We love our little snuggle bug lots and lots though! We thank God for him and the joy he brings to our family!

Sledding Fun

We walked to the sledding hill today and took a couple runs down. It was fun but not fast. Corbin really enjoyed eating the snow too...we made sure it wasn't yellow. (Elias didn't get to go down this time.)

We went for a Sunday drive yesterday after church. We went through a town nearby and drove by a church. They had a bunch of signs out front...for a car raffle!!!

4th Annual Valentine's Banquet

Janice came to cook the food! She did a great job and it was very much appreciated!
Thank you Janice!
Thanks George, too for your help!

And thanks also to Gpa & Gma H for watching the boys!

All Boxed Up

This winter has been so cold...and with little Elias it's hard to get out!

We are feeling a little boxed up!

Corbin, like all of us, is ready to break free!

That is about how small our house is feeling lately!

And luckily, there is only 6 more weeks of winter...according to a groundhog. Guess he doesn't live in North Dakota!!!

RETREAT

Last Monday through Wednesday, Joel, Elias and I went to the Pastor and Wives Retreat! (Corbin got to stay home with Gma Cathy.) It was so relaxing! We were able to do whatever we wanted for 3 days!!!

Elias enjoyed "eating" my breakfast!

This year, Joel and Barb came to speak to us! It was so good!

Before we left for home, we ate at Applebees....and enjoyed a dessert! We let Elias have the leftovers!

He was pretty upset when we took it away! Do you see his cute little chocolate covered face?

It was so good to get away for a couple of days and relax with friends! I wish it happened more than just once a year!

Homemade Microwave Popcorn

Call me crazy...it's ok...I don't mind. I found this idea on a blog and decided that it would be fun to try. You take 1/4 cup popcorn kernels.

Place in paper bag and fold 3 times and rip and fold a little section to secure it.

Place in microwave on popcorn setting (no idea how long that is...probably the same as you would normal pop it for).
Take out and serve with butter or salt!

I made 2 batches for our family (we really like popcorn).

It's so easy and doesn't have the harmful butter that was found to be in bought microwave popcorn.

Open Wide!

You have to click on it to see, but Elias has 2 teeth now! He finally let me snap a picture!

A Nap & Wrestling Record

Corbin & Shay needed naps before we headed to the wrestling meet. They both fell asleep while watching Cars!

Watching very intently in their Prowler gear!

Go Prowlers!

Shay & Corbin watching up close!

A new record was set! The Davis family record (for most wins) was beat by the Peralta family. The family was recognized with a nice plaque!!!
