Trip To Dickinson

Last Thur.-Sat., Joel, Corbin and I took a trip to Dickinson. Joel had some meetings for the Western District of the LB. Some of us pastor's wives got to hang out. Three of us have boys that are babies/toddler, so we got to see all the sizes!!! Children are a gift from God, without a doubt!!! It was really nice to have a time with just PW's! It was good to get away...just wish it could have lasted longer!

Harvest

It's that time of year again! Everything turns brown! Farmers harvest their crops...
I went for my first combine ride with Simon (my brother) since I was little! I'm not much of a farm girl...I usually avoided farming at all costs, but it was fun to get out in the field! It was also Corbin's first combine ride!
It's pretty neat how the combine cuts down the stalks and somehow the corn kernels appear in the hopper!!
Unloading the corn into the truck!
It was way more fun then I remember!

Off to Work!

More off to play than work. Corbin got to play in the Dinosaur play area at the mall in Fargo.
Choosing his lobster!
Going for rides in the wheeled bin.
Taking a walk at the farm.
The main reason for going down to my parents was to paint! The tan on the walls was "navijo white" since before I was born! I painted the family room and kitchen. It was fun to see color on the walls! Now next time we get there is will be all put together so we can get the real idea!

applesauce

I made applesauce for the first time in my life and it even turned out! Luckily Corbin will eat it, as long as he can "feed" himself! It was a huge mess, but he loved it!

the joys of parenting

need i say more???

Our Little Cowboy!

Corbin's new fascination is with Comet, his rocking horse! He goes crazy as soon as he gets on it! He recently realized that if you press its ear it makes noise!

Dinner Invite on 10/11

Last Thursday, we got a call asking if we wanted to go out to eat in GF! How can we resist a great meal at Texas Roadhouse??? Well, we can't, so off we went to GF for an awesome time with Joel's parents and aunt!!! We did sneak in a bit of shopping, too! Thanks George and Janice!!!

Picking A Flower

Worth A Thousand Words?

I thought about putting all the pictures that didn't turn out yesterday on the blog, but decided that all of them are pretty much like this one...so you get the picture! Yesterday I wanted to get a good picture of Corbin. I was determined that it needed to happen before the day was through! Out of the 50 pictures we took yesterday...about 45 of them look like this! I did get a few good pictures of him, but none of them were the "perfect picture" I was looking for! I guess we will just have to not try and it will happen!

Reading!

Corbin has a fascination with books. He loves to open them, flip through the pages, and then close them. Recently though, he started "reading" them. He opens the book and starts jabbering away!

Delicious!

I love dessert! And it's always fun when you find a good dessert that's easy to make!
2 pears
2 Tablespoon brown sugar
1 Tablespoon butter, melted
1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup vanilla frozen yogurt (or ice cream)
Core pears from the bottom, leave stems. Peel pears within 1/2 inch from tops and bottoms. If necessary cut bottom so it will stand upright. In 2-qt. microwave safe dish (with cover), combine brown sugar, butter and cinnamon; top with pears. Cover and microwave on high for 10-12 minutes (in a 1100 watt microwave) or until pears are tender. Place pears on dessert plates. Combine brown sugar, butter and cinnamon with the frozen yogurt (or ice cream). Spoon over pears and ENJOY! (can serve warm or chilled)
My mom and I enjoyed this dessert! It is really good! And it's fruit, so it's good for you, right?
(I got this recipe from a magazine. I wish I could take all the credit though!)

Got To Love Mondays with S

Every time S comes on Mondays, we try to make it a good time. Today Corbin delivered some powdered sugar so we could make....
"puppy chow"! Chocolate, peanut butter...and sugar what could be better than that??

I came in the TV room and this is what I found!
They are such cute kids! I'm glad they get along so well! S does such a good job watching Corbin!

More of Gma's Visit!

Look how happy he is! He really enjoys ceiling fans! He is fascinated with them!
Morning coffee (and milk)!
S. and Corbin gawking!
Then Gma gave them something to gawk at!

Can you say TANTRUM?

This is a face we are seeing all too often! Corbin really lets us know when he isn't happy! Let me tell you...it's not pretty! (Although the red nose is kinda cute!)

Gma Cathy Visits

We always have a blast when Gma Cathy comes to visit! An always popular place to play is right in front of the fridge...with all Corbin's fridge toys! Corbin dances like crazy to the music! He now has a new dance...the STOMP! Gma is trying to teach Corbin his name...
We picked all the tomatoes (even the green ones). We were told to put them in the window so they would ripen in the sunlight. Well, it's been cloudy since we picked them...but they are ripening anyway.
Corbin has a really hard time leaving them alone! "No, no!" doesn't really work anymore!
Corbin tried to fill daddy's shoes!
Hanging out on the couch!

Italian Night!

Gotta love pasta!
