Leap Day Events!

It was not just another ordinary day in paradise today! Corbin was the cutest little man when he woke up from nap! And the shirt (I do all my own stunts) made him look like a big boy!!! I think there is one thing that determines when a little boy turns into a big boy, and that event is.... A FIRST HAIRCUT!!!
That first snip was a little scary! But no tears were shed, just a lot of crazy glances and a lot of head turning!
Another snip here...
...and a mohawk there...
...and the finished product!!!
A BIG BOY!!!
(Although this picture really doesn't do it justice...he was in motion...and yes, that is just me blaming it on the camera!! I actually think it turned out pretty good, what do you think??)

Our Cute Little Monster!

I found the absolute cutest pair of socks in the entire world! I also bought the pj's to go with, so Corbin could be a little monster! Aren't those socks awesome??
He was a little monster all night last night!
Ate like a monster...and so did daddy!
Still eating!
He decided to take them off his feet at put them on his hands! What a scarey monster!

Little Red Rocking Chair

Corbin loves to grab a book and sit in his rocking chair and "read" it! It is so cute!

Balloon

I am typically the most paranoid parent when it comes to balloons, but when you go to the bank and they give them to every child that comes in their doors, it's hard to say, "no!" So, we put the string around his arm or leg and let him play with it on the way home...get him undressed and hide it and then we are good.
This time, he got it off and let it float to the ceiling. After he say the magic of the balloon, there was no way we could get it away from him without a big, kicking, screaming tantrum....so I gave in and watched him as close as possible until it wouldn't float to the ceiling anymore.

Sunny!

The weather has been so nice the last couple of days that we have been taking every chance to get outside! Corbin loves getting all bundled up to go for a sled ride! We have been running our errands that way for a couple days and as soon as we get to the door to our house, Corbin jumps out and wants to go for a walk himself! I can't even explain how good it is to get some fresh air! Keep the sun coming!!! (I think I'm ready for spring!)

Someone's in the kitchen!

Corbin loves to be in the kitchen! He loves to measure and pour and stir. Usually we reserve those activities for the bathtub, where the mess can be contained. But, I decided to be crazy and let him play with oatmeal! I saw the idea in a magazine and decided to try it! He played so contently for 1 1/2 hours! It was like he was taking a nap!!! I got things accomplished and he played, played, played! And the mess was so easy to clean up! Just sweep it up!
I needed to bring muffins for a Go Red event, so we spent an evening in the kitchen making muffins! We wrapped a dish towel around him so he could have a apron!
Corbin thought it was great to be able to open a drawer again! On every drawer we have put the clips so he can't get in! It drives him nuts...but it is to nice to have my mind at ease!!!

What happened to paci?

Corbin has been chewing on his pacifiers and has chewed holes in over half our stock! Instead of just throwing it away, we decided to cut the tip off and try a method of weening we have heard sometimes works. Snip the tip every few days until the paci is no more!
"What happened to paci?"

More Pictures from Gpa and Gma's

Corbin is really into knocking down anything and everything! He is in the middle of his swing and the blocks are flying!
How many men does it take to dress a toddler?
Loves his yogurt straight, hold the spoon!
Corbin's new trick is pulling your finger! If he wants you to go somewhere with him or get you up, he will pull your finger! If it doesn't work with your pointer he will go to your pinky and twist it!!!
Corbin is enjoying a massage before the trip home!
On our way home we stopped and ate lunch with Uncle Simon at Buffalo Wild Wings! Then, headed north and ate at Denny's with Corbin's Gpa George and Gma Janice and Great Uncle Leonard and Great Aunt Betty! It was good to see all the family and get a little time away from home! (But nothing beats a nights sleep on your own bed!)

It's a....

...Healthy Baby!!!!
We had an ultrasound last Monday. I have been anxiously waiting to put this on the blog, but couldn't until now! The baby's fingers are up by it's mouth!
In this picture the baby has it's hand up by it's face!
We did find out the gender, but I am going to leave it up to you to let yourselves in on the secret. (When we found out with Corbin we got a lot of grief about it...and being that it is our decision and we really want to know...we found out this time, too!) So, if you want to know the gender, check the comments...I will post a comment and let you know!

Rocking Out!

Corbin loves to 'play' guitar! He also really likes to put the pick into the strings like gpa does!

Making sweet music!

Imagine filling these "shoes"!

This is the hang out chair! Corbin enjoyed sharing it will Uncle Simon this time!

I love this picture! Corbin was so cute! This Ukulele is a little more Corbin's size (it was even made by his great uncle)!

MALL (not the grocery store "mall")!

My mom, Corbin and I (emily) enjoyed some time at a real MALL! (We call our grocery store at home a "mall", sad, but true.)

Corbin got a chance to throw some pennies into the fountain! I used to do this with my grandma when I was little. Now Corbin gets to do it with his grandma!!!

We had a full day of shopping! Corbin did shop 'till he dropped!

Fit in a couple Games!

Corbin is still loving his popcorn at games...you want some?

Slam Dunk!

And he scores!!!

Pics for Daddy

Corbin is still fascinated with Gma Cathy's vacuum! It is a multi-purpose toy for him!

Corbin and Uncle Evan enjoying the comfy chair! Corbin usually pushed people out of it so he can sit in it by himself. I guess Uncle Evan is just special!

Super Corbin!

Happy Valentine's Day!
Love,
Corbin-nater!
(and emily too)

Big Boo-Boo

Corbin is a pretty active little boy! He makes sure to keep us on our toes! Last night, Corbin fell head first on the tile and it left a pretty nice sized mark! His little teeth went right into his lip and after lots of crying and sucking on many "frozen" pacifiers, he felt better. This morning the real damage was evident! He really did bite it good! Ouch!!! He still smiles big for us and it hasn't slowed him down at all!

Time Away From Home

Corbin and I (emily) are enjoying some time away from home at Gma & Gpa's.

Corbin loves this Brio toy clown! He plays will it almost nonstop!

He also found Gpa's gloves and cap! He is ready to outside and help gpa on the farm or walk the dog!

3rd Annual Valentine's Banquet

Our 3rd Annual Valentine's Banquet was a success!!!

I didn't get any pictures of the wonderful food! Joel's aunt came and catered for us! She did a great job, the food was so good!!!

Most of the pictures are pretty dark. It was a candle-light dinner.

The banquet is a fundraiser for our church's youth group! It was a lot of fun AND a lot of work!
