Eat or Sleep? That is the question...apparently both?

Sunday School Graduation

Corbin was able to attend Sunday School for part of the year this year (by default). He really enjoyed going to "school". He made sure he had his backpack filled for "school". He had his classmates and he even had a teacher he affectionately called "teacher".

(really can't see, but he is getting his pin from "teacher)

Energy

Tonight we went for a walk over to the theater to get some treats. On our way home, Corbin and Joel were 'racing' each other. Joel asked Corbin where he gets all his energy. Corbin put his arms up, shrugged his shoulders (like he was asking a question) and said he didn't know where his energy was. Then, he looked in his pockets and told us his energy was in them. A little while later he reached into his pocket and held his palm open and told us he had his energy in his hand...then he pretended to eat it and took off again.

Kids imaginations are wonderful! I wish we could go back to that way of thinking every once in a while. I suppose that is the reason why we have children in our lives. Although they are a lot of work, they make us enjoy the little things!

S'More by Corbin N. Davis

1. Take a bite of a graham cracker.
2. Take a bite of a chocolate bar.
3. Take a bite of a marshmallow.
4. Chew, swallow and wah-lah!

Food and Fire

chicken and sweet onion kabobs

I (emily) was in the house changing Elias' diaper and Corbin brought me my first s'more of the season. Yum!

The new way to sleep.

The new way to sleep:

1. Take off all clothing except diaper.
2. Twist yourself up like a burrito in blanket.
3. Place yourself at a weird angle in bed.
4. Chatter until too tired.
5. Fall asleep.

Mowin' the Grass

Corbin and Elias went right to the window when the hear the noise from the mower. Corbin is really into the sounds that engines make. He notices when a truck, bus or car goes by. He hears every one of them and is sure to let us know.
Even though I am super fearful of kids around lawn mowers, I set aside my fears for a few minutes and let Corbin bring his mower outside to mow the grass with Dad.
He really enjoyed himself.
And he ran it out of gas...so he had to fill it up. Thank goodness Step 2 thought of everything!

Yum

Corbin and I (emily) were invited out to a friend's farm on Tuesday evening. We thought it would be fun to make a snack that everyone likes...Puppy Chow! Corbin was right there, helping each step of the way...until he realized how good the chocolate, peanut butter and butter mixture tastes...then he got a little distracted.

The spoon worked in the beginning....

...but he soon realized that fingers work even better...

...and it was finger-licking good!

Corbin says: "Want some, I'll share with you?"

Picnic In Our Backyard

Elias is so expressive!

We enjoyed our first picnic this week of chicken, peas and bread. Elias was all about the peas!

He is always so full of smiles.

Stuffing his face.

Corbin was very uninterested in eating his meal...he wanted to pick Mama some flowers instead.

Some food did make it into his mouth...but just enough so he could get back to playing.

He cleared his plate.

No idea where this look came from. I have never seen this look before...but it is hysterical!

Sherlock Forest

We met both sets of grandparents in GF for a Mother's Day celebration. After we ate, we grabbed some coffee and headed to Sherlock Forest playground. Corbin really enjoyed it and crashed as soon as we got in the car for the ride home.

Happy Mother's Day to both Grandmas!
We love and appreciate you both so much!

Elias Photoshoot

Having a new camera is way too much fun! Corbin has been so cranky he hasn't let me take his picture...but Elias is Mr. Smiley...most of the time.

I love taking pictures!!!

Pink Bike

Grandma Janice has a bike at her house that just happens to be pink. I decided that he might not want the pictures to be seen in the future if they were in color, so I took them all in sepia.

I love his little shadow!

He really did a great job riding. We went around the 'block' 3 times and Corbin was ready to go some more! Now we just have to find a cheap (or free) bike for him!
