overload

I finally sat down and took the time to sort through, save, blog and post our trip! I can't believe how long it took me! Sorry for the overload!

Itasca State Park

Our first family trip to Itasca.

2 homes, 2 churches, and 2 kids later...

Joel and I have almost been married for 5 years!

We were able to celebrate our Anniversary a bit early (being Joel is taking the Youth Group to Convention on our Anniversary) with NO KIDS!!! We enjoyed none-kid time for 4 days and 3 nights! Wonderful!!!

We had a fun meal at Zorbaz in D.L.

We were able to get a campsite thanks to Joel's Best Man.

Kissing bears.

Camp food is always so yummy. Camping somehow takes all the stress out of cooking! It is fun to cook outside!

We spent some time in Itasca State Park.

We were blessed to meet a couple that live on Long Lake (were we camped) that have a pontoon. They let us borrow it on Sunday so we could cruise the lake.

A Family a"FAIR" (cheesy...sorry)

Mara, Eli, Josie
These girls were so good with him! It was so fun to watch them "mother" him! He loved the attention!

We were able to go to one of Jacob's games.

Corbin talks all the time about baby Lincoln (comes out sounding more like Yincon, though). What a cutie!

We celebrated George & Janice's 40th Anniversary. We had a BBQ at the park.

And what is a visit to see George & Janice in the summer without a good old fair.

The opening night of the fair they had a parade and fireworks. Both boys loved the parade! We were at the beginning of it and they were throwing us tons of candy. Corbin would pick up 2 pieces at a time and bring them to me before he would get the next "hand full". You would think that will his love for candy, he would have been shoving them in his pockets as fast as possible. We also were able to watch the fireworks (through the trees) from the backyard on the trampoline. Corbin got to go on a few rides and thought they were great! We were also able to take in lots of fair food (mini donuts, taco in a bag, cheese curds....)! Yum!

We had a great time seeing Joel's family!

Fargo with Family

Elias was overjoyed to ride with Bob the Builder!

Our family was able to take 2 weeks off this year. The first week we spent with family. My (Emily's) family got together in Fargo for my grandma's memorial service. We were able to spend some wonderful time together as a family!
"I" was teaching Elias how to climb on the heater. These 2 are almost the same age. We had so much fun visiting them!

We were also able to go to our friend, Kari's, wedding! It was beautiful! And so much fun to run into so many friends from Fergus! We miss you all so much!!!

After the service for my grandma, we got together at the church she attended in Fargo.

I love this picture! My dad was chasing Elias.

Our little Superman! Since wearing this suit, everything has to be Superman. He needs to go Superman high on the swings and needs a Superman sized portion at mealtime...anything than can be Superman-ed, has been ever since.

We had a picnic before we all parted ways. It was such a beautiful day. It was so good to see everyone and to catch up with cousins and aunts and uncles. I look forward to the next reunion!

random-ness

Elias loved the idea of the sprinkler.

Banana Bums

Match 'Em Monday

Elias really enjoys helping with the
dishes. I remember Corbin doing the
same thing at about his age.

"charm house"

Corbin is very into"charming" (farming)! He has a "charm house" in the basement that he was re-shingling today. He has cows, horses, chickens, sheep, two pigs, and two dogs. His two pigs are named "Oint" and "Oint". His two dogs are named "Chi-Chi" and "Chi-Chi". He has a field. He has a tractor and a "chombine". He has a "really big" barn. He really enjoys "charming".

derby and a game of golf

On the 4th, Rolette had a Demo Derby. I don't understand the point of derbies...but apparently people love them. We doubled the size of our town that day. Joel and some youth sold mini donuts and tacos and they did really good!

On Sunday, we went to the golf course with some friends.
We walked the course. Corbin got a ride.
Lining up his shot.
Elias got to ride most of it in the bike trailer.
And also got to have a ride from daddy.

fireworks

Elias made sure to clap after each round of fireworks!

Playing peek-a-boo!

Last Thursday, my friend Steph and I had out first freezer meal making day. I didn't get any pictures of the fun...but we had a blast! I made up lasagnas, tator tot hotdish, taco meat, sloppy joe meat, waffles and cookies. It was a success! Everything on our lists got accomplished! Next time I am trying out some of her recipes...she was way more creative! Now we have about 15 meals in the freezer, ready and waiting to be eaten!!!

Anyone have any good recipes for me to try next time?

GF Fair

Joel's parents have a stand they set up at the fair. Elias got a taste of a mini donut! He was very impressed!
Joel was handed some tickets on the last day of the fair. Corbin and Joel went on the Merry-Go-Round 2 times. Corbin picked the monkey the first time and the horse the second. He was all smiles the entire time!
He also got to ride on a weird, purple dinosaur. He thought it was great!

Corbin, Elias, Gma Cathy and I (emily) got to ride on the train also, but we didn't get any good pictures. The boys thought that was great!

Joel helped in the stand making all the food. He spent most of it grilling the burgers and brisket and making sweet potato and regular fries. It was so much fun! I also got to help out a couple of the days.
We stayed at the campground. We had a pool set up and all kinds of toys, but we spent very little time there. The boys and I spend most of the time running around from the fair to stores!
Joel was able to use his Father's Day gift!
Gpa George and Corbin relaxing while waiting for breakfast!
Corbin enjoying a soak in the pool on a very hot summer day!
