Where on Earth is Perth? (and deli dogs)

Today, we took a Sunday drive! We packed a picnic lunch and started driving. We figured we'd head for Rolla (20 miles) and go to the park. We decided to first visit the town of Perth. We know people that grew up there, but haven't ever been there ourselves, so to Perth we went! "While on Earth, Why not Perth?"
All the signs leading to Perth have a Smiley face satalite dish and several of the area farms had them too.
This one is sporting a bow tie!
After our visit to Perth, we headed to the Rolla park for a picnic. Corbin and Joel enjoyed the playground for a little while until we decided to eat. When we unpacked the food and got our "deli dogs" (deli sandwiches on hot dog buns) made we were surrounded by bees!!! So, we packed up our picnic and ate in the car!
Corbin thought he was pretty funny stealing daddy's deli dog!

Elias' Outfits

I love this dotted sleeper! It looks like it should be worn to the circus! He's the new clown! (Too bad I didn't get it in the right size...when we got home I realized I bought the size he is growing out of instead of into!) Eyes wide open because of the flash!
Snuggling with daddy!
And here is the cute little outfit from Gma. It makes him look like a football player when it rides up on him! So cute!

How I feel some days!

This is the Mr. Potato Head Corbin got for his birthday, but it accurately describes how I feel some days!Being the mother of a newborn and a toddler...I need eyes in the back of my head!
Being I have a very active little boy, by the name of Corbin, that is always into something! He found the powder in the diaper bag in our entry the other day. And he decided to dump the entire bottle onto the floor and smear it around with his hands! Oh, the joys of having a toddler! Luckily, it is easy to clean...no need to get in a tizzy over a kid being a kid!
It's a blurry picture, but it captures Elias' smile pretty good. What a sweetheart!
Corbin kept saying "no, no, no" when I had my camera out. He apparently didn't want me to take his picture!
But then when I asked if I could take his picture, he said "CHEESE"!!!
Totally Random:
Babies have an unusually large amount of toe lint!
Every time I feed Elias, I am constantly picking out his toe lint!

Happy birthday, girl!

Thanks for letting us come to your party! Your boyfriend had a great time and can't wait to see you again soon!

Elias is 2 months!!!

Here he is! Smiling so sweet! Finally, it has been caught on camera!!! He has the cutest smile! His entire body gets excited when he smiles!
Big old cheesy smile!
Hi!
The last 2 months have gone by way too fast! I can't believe our little guy is already 2 months (and Corbin is 2 years old - crazy!!!)!!! It feels like Elias has always been here, but also like he just arrived yesterday! (Being a new parents is so confusing!) I love just watching him grow! I think he grows a little every time I blink! We are looking forward to all the stages to come, but relishing today!!!

C.C.s!!! (Corbin language for CDs)

Corbin got this "CC" player from Gpa and Gma and he likes it a lot! He carries it with him from one room to the next, dancing the entire time! He finds CDs and opens it up and sticks them inside! He is always asking for "CCs"!!!

Up in the A.M.

I love being a mom! I am currently up with Elias and it's 4:45 a.m.! He needs one of those shirts that say "Party my crib 2 a.m."! This time around it doesn't seem too bad to be up in the middle of the night for feedings, they are exhausting, but it is so fun to have the alone time with him. It is even more fun now that he is smiling and cooing away for me all the time! Now that he's sawing logs I should probably get another couple hours in before the 2 year old wakes up!

(Just posted to remind myself later of just how crazy the hours of a mother are.)

Happy Birthday Corbin!

My little boy is already 2! Getting ready for church this morning was pretty crazy because he just wanted to play with all his toys!
Just like mommy...on the computer on the couch!
And some other pictures from the day!
My cloth diaper boys! Elias got the fun ones because we bought them seperate from the package.
Corbin giving his new Curious George a bath...he is named Bubbles though!

Saying Good bye!

We ate our lunch at the Red Pepper and said good bye. Thanks so much for coming and celebrating with us! Corbin really had a blast playing with you Josie and Jacob!
The boys with Gpa George and Gma Janice (can't really see Elias though).
Corbin was asleep in no time! We had a very quiet ride home!

Wish we had this park in Rolette!

On Saturday, when we were getting packed up, Joel told us about a really neat park on the other side of the dike. So, we went over with the kids to check it out! Corbin enjoying the swing.
Corbin in the Jail House.
Jacob and just a little part of the park.
When I took out my camera, Jacob started showing me all the neat things he could do on this playground! It was a hoot! "Come here, take a picture of me doing this."
Corbin exploring.
Josie climbing tires.
Peek-a-boo with Gpa Don.
Jacob climbing the tires.
Evan and Gpa Don enjoying the swings.
Corbin and Josie walking the tight ropes.

If you are ever in Grand Forks and you have little ones, check out this playground! It is so cool! There are even castles (didn't get pics on here of them though)!!!

Corbin's 2nd Birthday Celebration

For Corbin's 2nd birthday, we went camping in Grand Forks. Here is our camper all decorated for the party.
And the cake! It was an ice cream cake that was so good! We forgot to have him blow out candles...it was probably to windy to light them anyway.
The birthday meal was great also. It was steaks, corn-on-the-cob, roasted veggies, and more.
Corbin opened some presents early...including his 706 and plow (is that right?...I'm not a very good "farm girl").
All Corbin's gifts! He got so many and he has been playing with them non-stop...one to the next!
Hanging out with Josie and Jake in the tent.
Joel's aunt Betty had Elias really smiling and cooing.
Playing with Gma Janice's bubble machine.
Corbin's gift from Daddy, Mommy and Elias.
And a picture of Elias sleeping peacefully in the arms of his "Godfather"!

sleep and a tattoo

Corbin's nap time has been interesting lately. He doesn't want to nap, he wants to play. So, he will drag out the toys from his closet and play during his entire nap time. And sometimes he plays himself out.
At our "mall" (aka grocery store) we have the little 25 cent machines...so Corbin found 25 cents and got himself a tattoo! It's on his arm. The hair was from the sunscreen. He is one cool dude!
Another nap time that was a success!

Eli's First "Words"

Weekend in Minot

Joel had a wedding in Minot last weekend. So we stayed in a hotel on Friday night! A very tired little man!
Two tired little men!
Corbin taking a wedding guest for a walk!
Family picture! First one that has turned out...Eli is 7 weeks already and this was the first picture we got that Corbin and Eli both are "happy"!
At the reception there was a little boy 2 months younger than Corbin...but way bigger!
We had a fun time! Friday we garage saled until the rehearsal. Than swam after we got back to the hotel. On Saturday, we went shopping at the mall until the wedding. The wedding was beautiful! Joel had a great message for them! It was an outdoor wedding and so nice! Corbin hung out with one of the wedding guests (the one in the picture) the entire wedding! He wouldn't leave her side! It was really cute! The entire day was great, but very exhausting! When we got home Saturday night at 11 p.m. we crashed hard! It was hard to get up Sunday morning, but we did!
