Corbin's Closet is Complete!

I think every pregnant woman comes up with a "before baby arrives" list. And being I am a list person anyway, it is rather long! Today, I opened many closets, but only finished one...Corbin's! Now all his toys are in place and clothing in order! It is so refreshing to open his closet and see how "neat" it is! I know it is only a matter of a few days and he will have ripped it apart, but for now I will enjoy the organization!
We still aren't completely finished with his room (we need white shelves and no store sells nice white shelves...they all look cheap or are too narrow). When the room is complete (and the nursery, too) I will post pictures!

2nd Haircut

Today, Corbin got his 2nd haircut. This time we decided to go to a salon being Joel and I (emily) were getting our hair cut, too. This is the before!
He sat so good on Joel's lap! It was amazing! He didn't even move his head!!!
I believe this is the longest he has ever sat completely still in his life!!!
All done with the haircut, ready for his treat!!!
And finally a picture from later in the day! He looks so much bigger (and balder) than before! His hair is so blonde and fine that in some places it looks like she shaved it, but it's just shorter! It was a great experience though! We hope that it will go this well everytime!

Diego Toothbrush

Corbin used to love to brush his teeth the normal boring way, but soon the fun was gone and it became a chore! So, we decided that it was time to try a toothbrush that can brush his teeth and he can be lazy and just hold it in his mouth! Now he wants his teeth brushed every time we go by the bathroom door!

Haven't you always wanted a monkey?

Guess what time it is...

Summers in ND = Road Construction We took a quick trip to Minot yesterday...mainly for family time!!!
Corbin going into daddy's "stadium" (being he's wearing a hat, it can't be house...right?)
Corbin wanted to get his hands in it too!
Corbin got to meet Yoda.
And being it was family night, he got 10 tokens free and a free meal!! The only "toddler friendly" game they had was one that a ball drops into a hole with a number and that is how many tickets you get. He get 140 total!!! Then a couple gave him 40 more tickets, so he got all his heart desired for prizes...m&ms, a slinky and a notebook! Now we will never be able to "just" eat there again!!!

Cravings!!!

Need I say more???

The Crayon Bank

Corbin got this crayon bank for his 1st birthday and it has just sat in our kitchen collecting dust...only being used on occasion to store some change. Until now that is! Corbin now uses it daily! We put many coins in it to keep him busy!
He gets so proud of himself! It's funny how much concentration it takes for him to get the coin just right in between his fingers so that he can get it just right in the hole to drop it in! Such entertainment!

Crazy Week!

This week has been crazy! We have had something going on everyday! Luckily, it is also the week that Corbin decided to sleep through the night EVERY NIGHT!!! He has gotten used to his toddler bed now and we have a pretty good routine that he enjoys (diaper/pjs, brush teeth, read devotions, pray and then night, night!)!!! It has been going so smooth! God answered our prayers, big time!!!

He is still a little harder to settle down for naps though. It's one of those "take one day at a time" things! On Wednesday when I took this picture, he was out cold as soon as his head hit the pillow!
Corbin climbed into his toy drawer in the kitchen while Joel was cooking Wednesday evening! What a goof ball!

Update: The cloth diapers have been great! I didn't think they would be this easy, but they are! We have got the routine down now and Corbin has no objections to them anymore! In fact, he loves running around with just the diaper! My mom even had some liners that she gave me and they are the one reason why they have been so easy! It contains the poop to the liner and you flush it down when it's been used! So really, we just have to deal with getting our fingertips dirty!!!

Junior & Senior Banquet

Joel was asked to speak for the Junior & Senior Banquet. He did a really good job! Being Joel was the guest of honor, we got to sit at the head table, so I didn't get a very good picture of him. It was a fun night though! We even got a friend to watch Corbin, so it was just the 2 of us! (We almost didn't find a sitter, but sure glad we did, because otherwise I would have had to leave.)
Joel and I never really take pictures together...but I made sure that we did last night! They had all the prom decorations up, so it was like a flashback!

No Longer Disposable!

We made a pretty big "change" in our home recently! We are no longer using disposable...we are using cloth!
It did take a little while to adjust, but it is so much cheaper and honestly, just as easy...so why not? I never would have considered cloth when Corbin was born, but being I'm home with him all day and disposables really don't hold that much more in...might as well!
Now the money we were literally throwing away can be better spent!

Our new addition!

Does this picture give you an idea of the addition? Little Charlie came home today!
Corbin and Charlie
Charlie's home!
Corbin is really good at holding the leash.
Corbin was so excited to watch him eat, he decided to feed him! It was pretty cute!

Bubbles!

I asked Corbin to say cheese and this is the face I got! Crazy smile!
Time to blow some bubbles!
Every once in a while he will do it, but usually I end up blowing the bubbles and he chases after them!
I love this picture! He did end up catching it! When he did, it popped and he looked at me with the funniest expression! Children are so innocent!

sucker

Corbin and I went for a walk yesterday and decided we needed a little treat. Corbin picked out a sucker and I had one, too. He dropped his on the ground on our way home, so I ended up having to give him mine...he thought it was pretty great! It's amazing to watch a kid lick a sucker, it really does take forever! He gave up on it!

will it happen again?

Today, Joel put Corbin down for nap in his toddler bed and he stayed in there and fell right to sleep! I don't know if it will be something that sticks, but I am enjoying the fact that a full nap time is happening right now in his new room!!!

Week Away!

What a week it has been!
Joel signed up for an Intensive Course at the seminary in Fergus and Corbin and I decided to go along for the ride instead of staying at home!
Our first stop was at the Golden Corral for a birthday party and some good buffet style food!

Joel's mom & dad, aunt, and brother & family met us there.

Corbin with his cousins Josie & Jake

After our celebration, we headed to Fergus and got settled in at Dan & Christine's!

Monday night, we were invited over to Danny & Mandy's for supper! We had an excellent meal! They live in a house that I (emily) lived in for a little while. It was fun to see it again!

After our supper, we went over to Dan & Christine's for dessert! It was really good! Just what 3 pregnant women crave, cookies and ice cream!!!!

Christine, Mandy and I are all due within a month of each other!

What bellies??

The men!

On Tuesday, I got the opportunity to shop at my all time favorite store, TARGET!!! The Target in Fergus Falls is the best in the world! It is like home!

Corbin even fell asleep in the cart while I shopped!
After Target, Corbin and I met up with some of my co-workers from when we lived in Fergus! It was so good to see them again and to catch up! So much changes in just a few years! It was a great time!
Then we picked up Joel and headed off to Wahpeton to watch my brother, Evan, run! What's a track meet without wind??? It was pretty cold, but fun to see him!

Evan's in the lead! Go, Evan, Go!

Then, Joel went back to Fergus and Corbin and I went home with my family!

Corbin and Grandpa playing a duet!

A lot of post-its!

playing the guitar

smiling super cute!
Enjoying Gpa's back support seat, with remote in hand and eyes on the tv.
Gpa teaching Corbin how to play the guitar.
On our way home on Friday, we met Joel in Fargo. My brother, Simon came over too! We had to stop at Once Upon A Child...and Simon got Corbin this really funny (but cute) coat!
Our last stop before home was in GF to see Gma & Gpa Davis. We went to a truck stop (only place open) and enjoyed a snack before we hit the road for home! They had a mini truck that Corbin thought was pretty cool!
We got home and Corbin slept the night in his toddler bed! (he must have been really exhausted!)
